Philosophy of Education For many individuals, choosing a career is one of the hardest decisions to be faced with. The majority of students in college spend their first year stressing about what they are going to do with the rest of their life. I, fortunately, have known since I was in middle school that I wanted to be an elementary school teacher. As a future teacher I feel that essentialism and progressivism are going to be my unique philosophies of education. It is very important to know the nature of your students. I strongly believe that all children can be taught, but not all at the same level. All children have different levels of learning. Some students may be faster learners than others. It is very important, especially as an elementary teacher, to understand that subjects have to be taught at different levels according to the ability of each individual student. I realize that I am going to have to teach material at several different levels and spend more time on certain subjects with certain individuals. The overall purpose of education is to better society. Without education society would be deprived of all new technology that many people today cannot live without. There would be a decrease in career choices. Education is very important in life. Without educators there would not be any jobs in the world today. As a future educator I plan to give back to society what I have received from my experience in school. I hope that I influence my students as much as some of my teachers have influenced me. I want my students to be able to trust me and to tell me whatever the want. I feel that it is important to treat all children equally. I want to increase self-esteem in all of my students and not decrease it. It ... ...pher John Dewy, who saw education as an opportunity to learn how to apply previous experiences in new ways. I plan to use this philosophy by letting my students work together in small groups and do experiments. I am planning on finishing my education with a Master’s degree. I want to get a job close to home. I am a big family oriented person. I want to start a family of my own a few years into my teaching career. This is another one of the many advantages of being a teacher because I will have a lot of time to spend with my own children. I also want to coach a basketball team in the future. I want to be able to influence and shape the lives of young innocent children. The idea that I can shape a child’s life means more to me than any amount of money. I want to help children in any way I can. Education is what makes the world work and I want to be a part of that.

Importance of a good Elevator Pitch – While persistence and ingenuity were also important factors in getting Savage Beast's initial investment, the investor decided to invest after only ten minutes. This implies that Savage Beast had a strong elevator pitch that was both informative enough and interesting enough to hook an investor. 2. Defined roles – When everybody know what their role in the company entails, it akes for a well-oiled machine.When everybody has a Job to do and everybody is open and understanding of the Job decisions get made that are in the best interests of the company. 3. Sustainable plans – There are a lot of good ideas, but in order to be a successful company these ideas have to have long term footing. Without growth, the company will fail. For instance, if there is a music tool with a small music library, no one will invest. 4. Corporate decisions – It is important for everyone in upper management to be on the same page and to agree o n company decisions.When the ounders of a company are not in agreement the entire company suffers. In this case, I think one of them leaving was a good decision. 5. Redirection – Taking a step back and reassessing goals and options can be a huge turn around for a struggling company. There is no shame in stopping one failing strategy as long as the new strategy has purpose and direction. Section C – Discussion Questions 1 . Where exactly did Savage Beast go wrong? Description This SEL program seeks perform seeks to help students learn by creating an environment that fills the full scale of students needs. This unit is designed to provide opportunities for second grade students to explore and research animals in the ocean, the characteristics and features of the ocean, and how people interact within the ocean habitat in a positive or negative way. Students discover five features of the ocean floor and then create a model of the ocean floor. Students complete a map labeling continents and oceans. After playing a globe toss game and discovering how much of the earth is covered by land and water, students graph this information on a class graph. Students participate in a class demonstration to show how much of the earth is composed of fresh or salt water. As a final product, students create a guide book using Power Point for their chosen aspect of the ocean. Additionally, students will create an ocean mural incorporating ocean characteristics, animals, and hu man interaction in this habitat. Rationale This unit provided students the opportunity to explore and research a particular aspect of the ocean that interests them. This kind of ownership of what they research empowers students to investigate a topic in-depth. In the above mentioned activities students use specific reading strategies for comprehension, classifying and analysis skills, and synthesize research to create a guide book using Power Point.
